Prof. Shunji Murai

 Prof. Murai is a renowned figure in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS throughout the world and has been very active in promoting this technology for more than 30 years, especially in the Asian region. He holds Doctor of Engineering from Univ. of Tokyo, 1970 and B. Eng. (Civil Engg), Univ. of Tokyo, 1963. He is presently the Chair Professor, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand since 1995. His research interest lies in Digital Photogrammmetry , Remote Sensing, Geo-information Systems (GIS), Digital Terrain Modelling and Global Change.
