ABSTRACT
t was reported that some areas in Northern Coast of West Java are suffered by inundation during rainy season every year. A lot of paddy fields are inundated and rice plants could not be harvested. To formulate their development strategies according to the available risk to the area, the presence of potential inundated area mapping will help the concerned authorities.

This paper outlines how spatial information technologies might be used into operational programs for identifying inundated area on paddy field. The Citarum Watershed, West Java in Indonesia is chosen as a case study to demonstrate how remote sensing analysis and spatial data of bio-physics can facilitate the instant needs of identifying the potential inundated area on paddy field.

The study showed that wetness and greenness index can be used for identification of inundated area on paddy field. The factors of precipitation (volume and intensity), drainage and topographic condition, landform position have influenced to condition of inundated area. Inundated area of paddy fields is physiographically located in the lowland of backswamp, alluvial, marine, and closed basin.
