Abstract
This paper introduces the application of Remote Seninsg and GIS to comprehensive evaluation in pipe-route selection between JingBian and ZhengZhou (this section is the especially difficult one in the project of west gas to the east’ in China). Considering the characteristics of this area, using RS as basic information source, we established comprehensive evaluation system of the pipe route. The system includes twelve data layers such as pipe’s length, traffic conditions, crossed barrier and terrain. Taking GIS as technological support, spatial analyses and statistic of each topic are carried out. By means of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) incorporating experts knowledge, administrative level analyses are used for all element weight weight defining and sequence arrangement. All routes are objectively evaluated in detail. The best route is selected, which provides decision basis for route-selection.
