MORPAS is a professional software system for mineral resources quantitative assessment, which was developed by our research group based on MAPGIS. This paper introduced the structure and functions of MORPAS, including geological information process, geophysical data process, geochemical data processing, remote sensing image processing, geo-information synthesis module and mapping functions. It also presented an application in assessment of Tin-Copper resources of Gejiu district, China. It summarized the regional geological condition and mineralization characteristics of Gejiu Sn-Cu deposit, quantitatively analyzed the relationship between of Sn-Cu deposits and strata, faults, granites using 1:200000 scale digital geological map, extracted geochemical anomalies according to 1:200000 scale stream sedimentary geochemical survey, studied and optimized some evidence layers for Cu-Sn mineralization, and calculated out the Cu-Sn favorable degree. Finally it delineated out 14 favorable zone of Sn-Cu deposit which can be taken as a guidance for further prospecting work. Key word: MORPAS, Resource prediction , Sn-Cu resources, Gejiu Yunnan
