Abstract :
Qariah boundary or mosque based community boundary identification has becoming a crucial and sensitive right issue. The boundaries defined the right of the people, onus, power and services especially for the Muslim community. The boundaries are normally alienated according to the mosque capacity, population borders and leader’s intuitive. However with the highly demanded in community efficiency management, land use optimization, population increase and land value appreciation, the situation is getting tense, vague and causes are great deal of confusion in the qariah’s right. This project is studied to include more sustainable parameters in the qariah boundary’s. The study has taken place in one of the district in Perlis, Malaysia involving about eight mosques. GIS techniques (ArcGIS) of overlaying, reclassification according to Thiessen principle, neighbourhood, network and area definition have been widely used in the analysis. The resulted shows various structure of boundaries in different polygons shape where each shape will be analysed according to each of the parameter. The research revealed that none of the techniques could be able to give the optimum result for all parameters but the best boundary has been suggested
