Evaluation of relationship between tax assessment and facilities provided by the government using GIS

Tax assessment is setting tax on a taxable property. Since a long time tax assessment is in existence. It is one of the major sources of income for the government. Common people demands some facilities to be provided by the government such as proper drinking water, maintained roads, proper waste disposal system against this tax assessment system.
GIS plays an important role in tax assessment analysis. The scope of work encompassed computerization of property tax assessment records, property enumeration and household survey, creation of property maps, generation of attribute data from survey records and integration to individual property maps.
In this paper we discussed tax assessment system and an effort has been made to establish a relationship between tax paid by the common people and facilities provided by the government and local body. We focused on two differentwards of Pune city, one was belonging to higher income group and other to a lower income group and comparison has been made about the prevailing facilities in both the wards.
