4. Data Findings and Discussion Aridity is a permanent feature of the climate of major parts of Balochistan and Sindh. The mean annual rainfall recorded in these arid areas fails to meet seventy five to ninety percent of mean annual ETo. The meteorological stations lying in the arid zone include Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Chhor, Badin and Karachi. The situation is even more severe in south western Balochistan and south eastern Sindh where the moisture index (percentage) is less than minus ninety. The larger part of study area comes under this zone (Figure 3.3). |
