Flood is one of the most severe natural disasters. Radar remote sensing is useful for monitoring flood because it can provide images during day or night and the presence of clouds or light rain. Its application has received more attention in this regard. In this paper, we aim to review study about fusion technique for detecting flood area using radar imageries. Fusion technique has been useful in detecting flood because; 1) multispectral image can enhance the visual interpretation of radar image; 2) combination of radar image and multispectral image can produce window profile to confirm the flood area; 3) it can improve information by extracting the flood spatially and spectrally. According to Mardiana, S. et. al, 1999, the result by using fusion technique was highly accurate as compared to using a single image. Generally, the results have shown good possibility to apply fusion technique on radar images for flood mapping and monitoring.
