Abstract :
To strengthen the national food security, national agencies involved in producing spatial natural resource data and information on agricultural development have formulated the programs for the establishment of the synergic spatial natural resource database. These programs are to support the optimization of the spatial natural resource data and information in the national agencies concerned for supporting the national food security. Cooperating with the related agencies, in 2004 BAKOSURTANAL conducted the establishment of the synergic spatial natural resource database in Lampung province as a prototype. This activity produced the standardized datasets useful for improving the food insecurity atlas of Indonesia made by the Department of Agriculture. We concluded that the implementation of the establishment of the synergic spatial natural resource database had to be improved, particularly for the data standardization and the coordination among the related agencies in formulating the integrated programs of producing datasets according to their tasks and functions.
