The Application Of Geographics Information System In Planning Of Housing Area Development

ABSTRACT.
The stressed of this explanation is in geographics information system that help the planned of area usage for housing area development in Yogyakarta Municipality. As known by most of people, Yogyakarta is also often called as student city and tourism city. With that called, there are many people that choose Yogya as a place for earning education and recreation, finally also giving the image that all the students and university students have finished their study, stayed and looked for the life style in Yogya. They also finally need a place in this city, until there are many developers who build housing. This development absolutely influential very bad to the city space structuring in Yogya, if it is done randomly. So that needed the information system that may help office of city and Yogyakarta municipality building for planning the development of housing in decision areas, in order that not incompatible with the existing region rule. Because it cannot be denied that city space structured is very important for Yogya city, that has a very small scope compared with another regency area in Yogya province, so the existing area usage must be counted accurately.
From research result got that system which is made may inform the existing housing complex in Yogyakarta neither manual data nor mapping. Analyzing of area suitability for housing got based on the existing map. The buyer may look at some existing housing complex, so it is unnecessary for looking at directly the housing location.
