GIS has emerged as an efficient tool in planning, monitoring
and managing of urban issues / activities where large scale digital base maps
plays a significant roll in providing the graphical base as a prerequisite to

generator for solving various urban issues through GIS and urban base maps. The
state of the art technology NRSA possesses are (a) extensively modified aircraft
fitted with computer controlled navigation system for efficient aerial
photographic coverage (c) digital orthophoto and soft copy photogrammetry system
for generating digital elevation models and map alternatives at a much less cost
and time (d) a host of analytical photogrammetry systems for large scale
mapping.
NRSA has prepared large scale urban base maps on 1:2,500 scale
for 25 towns in different parts of India for Town & Country Planning
