One down two to go...
Two countries - Syria and North Korea are the still to see sense but Egypt has given a reason for Nicholas Savander of NOKIA to cheerup. Just about six months ago, he had ruefully said - "who would regress to meet the demands of markets that refuse to keep up with progress when we’re moving at a fast pace towards developing and devising new technologies?” in context with the ban by the odd three on any gadget with a GPS chip!!! Egypt's National Telecom Regulatory Authority has now decided to permit the import of vehicular navigation devices, GPS enabled mobile phones, cameras and laptops for civilian use - well no fear of missing King Tut's tomb now...

The technophobia of Syria is probably misguided patriotism which will impact overall development, but N Korea's stance is rather strange. If not GPS atleast allow GLONASS. Or do they plan to launch their own constillation ?

On the launchpad today is India's RISAT and tomorrow it is Malaysia's RAZAKSAT's - pucker time for ISRO and ATSB - best of luck guys.
