Airborne and satellite radars record grape harvest in Rome
Wine has been produced in the slopes of Frascati overlooking Rome for a long time. Part of Frascati's area was surveyed in detail using an airborne radar sensor. The results are being studied to investigate to what extent the satellite radar imagery is sensitive to vineyard surfaces and the change in biomass following the grape harvest.
Landsat 5 resumes operations
Landsat 5 is back in operation after imaging operations were temporarily suspended due to technical difficulties. The USGS and NASA engineers were able to adjust the operating procedures for the solar array drive mechanism, providing enough power for the mission to resume normal operations.
HP enters the GPS market
HP has announced a new device it has launched with ViaMichelin. Using a PDA model originally announced in September last year, HP has decided to use its rx1950 PDA at the core of the system adding a cradle and the software to offer the GPS solution.

Intergraph Corporation announced on 3rd February 2006, Preetha Pulusani, president of Intergraph’s Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) division, has elected to retire after 25 years with the Company.
US appeal court rules in favour of ER Mapper
After an epic four year patent fight in the US Courts, a US Appeal Court has ruled that Earth Resource Mapping's (ER Mapper) image compression technology does not infringe an earlier patent licensed by Lizardtech, a US-based competitor and further that the earlier patent was partially invalid.
