'Most scientific data will never be directly examined by scientists; rather it will be put into online databases where it will be analyzed and summarized by computer programs.' said Jim Gray and Alex Szalay in their technical report on the World Wide Telescope in June 2002. On 27th Feb last month, Microsoft put their ideas into reality and the alfa version of the WWT was released. A sneek peek at the WWT had made Scoble cry...How different the WWT is from the Google Sky is a moot issue. The very idea of making available some of the most spectacular views, unseen by the naked eye and giving us a glimpse of the very begining is a service to mankind.

Over two years ago, the zeal with which the world embraced a movement called Google Earth continues even today, while the WWT will unable us to see where 'no man has gone before' - finally an all encompassing virtuality...
