27th March 2006 VOL.2 ISSUE 13

It was unfortunately the Asian Tsunami, which forced some of the effected countries to change their map dissemination policies when they realised that ‘lives were lost since maps are kept secret’. Unfortunately some still continue to ponder, dodder, drag feet…the apathy is appalling. Which other ‘Act of God’ will make them see the light? Probably a bolt from the blue.

Down to earth technologies like the Powered Parachute - PPC used for ‘low Cost Airborne Video Imaging’ are now available and present a great business opportunity but only if one is allowed to, or ‘permitted’ to carryout aerial surveys. In this age of innovation, where new, practical and low cost ideas for data gathering, terrain monitoring, surveying and allied activities are being discovered, all of mankind should benefit - a step closer to ‘digital earth’.
