dozing geospatially

Prefixing a verb or even an adjective with 'geospatial' communicates a very specific idea which would otherwise need a paragraph to explain. I used the term 'geospatial-sensitivity' a few weeks ago. I now find the term 'geospatial insensitivity' appropriate in the same context. The repeated and brazen depiction of disputed international borders in different colours on Google Maps/Earth is such an act. And the solution to this? Surely, Google cannot just ask each of the concerned country to provide a vector file of their sovereign territory...

The concept of crowdsourcing has been effectively used by Google for getting its maps updated and corrected. Crowdsourced information is always subject to questionable reliability, but how about keeping a counter? If the majority say so, then it must be true!!! It would be an interesting exercise to allow crowdsourcing for updating disputed borders. With the 'aware' usage of virtual globes, disputed territories, could opt for a geospatial-referendum... the populous and geospatially aware could bulldoze- virtually, while others just doze.

In a lighter vein- does the placement of disputed international borders in google earth depend on the revenue generated by google from the nations in question?
