Tomorrow...

Man made Juggernauts

Mega Infrastructure Projects are now to be measured by a new yard stick... covering 140 sq. km, six parallel airstrips, capable of four simultaneous take-offs and/or landings, a hundred thousand parking slots (for cars) – the Dubai World Central International Airport will dwarf Heathrow in all aspects. This project is being g-enabled by the Dubai Municipality's e-MAP gateway. Setting up this colossus in the featureless desert landscape is possible only due to the near real time aerial and satellite imagery coverage of the entire project and accurate GPS benchmarks. DWCIA will be operational in 2009.

Consolidation and unification
data, documents, Maps & decisions that drive your business... will be new punch line of Pitney Bowes Software. In March this year, MapInfo entered into a merger agreement with Pitney Bowes Inc. Group 1 Software was earlier acquired by Pitney Bowes Inc. The merging of PB MapInfo and PB Group 1 Software is a logical step in bringing about synergy for '...allowing you to integrate location intelligence throughout your mailstream'. Will MapInfo slowly loose its separate identity and become the unseen engine under the bonnet of high end applications?
