In India, BSNL the mobile telecom giant is putting in place the countries first cell phone based LBS. This service is being made available on standard GSM handsets. The project is being implemented by Telenity and will be scalable form the present 14 million to a projected 70 million subscriber base, the largest in the world. World wide carrier revenues are expected to climb from $1 billion today to over $8.5 billion in 2010. In Europe alone, a 34% annual growth is expected reaching $788 million in 2010 says Johan Fagerberg from Berg Insight, a business intelligence company.

A picture speaks more than a thousand words! what do maps convey? "They brought inspiration of a new land to the oppressed and the persecuted. They charted the paths of national expansion and empire building… says Mr Goldman, the lawyer retained by British Library for dealing with the Smiley map theft case. Three historically important maps printed more than 400 years ago were stolen from the British Library. They include an untitled world map, an oval woodblock from George Best’s A True Discourse of the Late Voyages of Martin Frobisher, printed in London in 1578. We invite your opinion on how much should Edward Forbes Smiley III, a 50 year old U.S map dealer be penalised for these thefts along with 94 other similar acts.
