How was the seminar?
Leica GIS User Meet was a good opportunity for us to learn and generate feedback from both the sides. It was a good gathering of people from different professions at one center.

Any special influencing event during the seminar?
In my opinion the Surveyor General of India Dr. Prithvish Nag presented an issue which is important in the field of GIS technologies. The concept of public-private partnership is fast emerging in today's discussions. During the feedback session the questions were generated from both the sides and answers were given by professionals who were part of the gathering. This made it a three-way discussion, rather than a debate between the users and the technology provider.

Why is feedback session important?
Leica Geosystems always believes that 'user' is the key developer of products. The feedback that is generated from the user is very helpful in improvising the product. It decides the direction and the requirements. The company takes only 6 months to incorporate user feedback and upgrade the product.

Do you think these kind of seminars serve their purpose?
Yes! Such seminars help to bring the company and consumer closer to each other. We do not intend to present such events as mere product launch meets, but rather as feedback sessions. The good response here gives us an idea to convert this into a regular annual meet. In fact we would like to make it a quarterly event.

Any immediate follow up to the event?
We would like to improve our relationship with the Survey of India. We find a quality partner in the SoI and its geospatial heritage.

What is your opinion about the GIS market in India?
The Indian market is searching for quality technology. We are trying to fulfill the demand through web-based products. This may provide spatial data for infrastructural and economic development of the region.

What is your vision for the future?
Our future vision is to produce India-specific products which are 'Image Intelligent' and which can be used to develop base maps.
