    IndiaMap Premium Released

    Integrated Digital Systems (IDS) has released its IndiaMap Premium. It has following features:

    Eicher City Guide for Delhi Launched

    The Eicher group launched the Eicher City Guide for Delhi. It was formally released by Shri Sahib Singh Verma, Chief Minister of Delhi. This is the second major publishing venture from the Eicher Group, the first being the Eicher City Map which has sold over 60,000 copies and has made Eicher a household name in the city.

    On the occasion, Subodh Bhargava, Chairman, Eicher Group said, "The Eicher Guide is the natural corollary of the Eicher City Map." The City Guide is the first comprehensive and handy guidebook on Delhi, blending the cultural with the practical, artistic excellence with scientific precision. Visually exciting, the 450 page book has especially commissioned colour photographs, 25 architectural drawings and 42 pages of maps covering 190 sq.km. of Delhi.

    The publication is supported by Delhi Tourism. Complimenting the publishing team Ms. Prasad, Managing Director, Delhi Tourism said, "The Eicher City Guide delves deep into the historical and cultural wealth of Delhi and unveils surprising facets to even the Dilliwala. The accurate information and lucid presentation will endear the book to both domestic and international tourists."

    Extremely user-friendly, the Guide contains section details where to stay, what to eat, where to shop, and also historical details, the artist's impression of the city and invaluable insights such as identifying stones that make the monuments, the city's flora and fauna.     Wide Format Printers from HP

    Hewlett-Packard Company has announced the HP DesignJet 3000 CP Series printers, two new extra wide inkjet printers offering high quality, colour rich output up to 54 inches wide for GIS applications which require excellent line and colour fill output quality combined with the convenience of a printer that can operate in a standard office environment.

    Commenting on the potential of these printers for the GIS market, Mr. Puneet Chadha, Market Development Ma-nager, HP India, said, "Inkjet tech-nology is creating a quite revolution for the GIS professional. The convenience of a network ready printer that can be moved around the office or that can be located in re-mote branch off-ice without the hassle asso-ciated with ol-der printing, technologies, frees up the GIS practitioner to concentrate on the inter-pretation, vis-ualisation and communication of vast quan-tities of data.

    The DesignJet 3000 CP is priced at Rs. 6,99,950. The DesignJet 3500CP printer is priced at Rs. 8,49,950.

    PCI Expands Product Line

    Digital Photogrammetry The PCI Geomatics Group announced the expansion of its OrthoEngine, digital photogrammetry software suite. Recently added functionality includes; orthorectification of satellite data, generation of digital elevation models (DEMs) from satellite and air photos, and stereo capabilities for 3-D visualization, DEM editing and feature extraction. OrthoEngine is available immediately for Desktop and UNIX platforms.

    OrthoEngine provides photogrammetrists with the most technically advanced tools for the creation of map-accurate orthophotos and precise DEMs in an easy-to use, modular environment. OrthoEngine supports the widest range of sensors for ortho processing including; aerial and digital/video cameras, LANDSAT, SPOT, IRS, RADARSAT, ERS and JERS data. DEM extraction is offered from stereo air photos, SPOT, IRS and RADARSAT imagery.     PAMAP GIS Version 5.2 Released

    PAMAP GIS 5.2, a fully integrated raster and vector GIS software package has been released by the PCI Geometics Group. The release features a redesigned user interface and database management program which allows for the integration of existing client data and workflows. Version 5.2 is available for use immediately on Windows 95 and Windows NT platforms.

    PAMAP GIS provides a powerful suite of analysis, planning and forecasting tools. Additional features include; graphical toolbox customization for automating repetitive functions, support for multiple planning rings, and the integration of the Group's GeoGateway technology. GeoGateway provides direct read/write data access to most popular GIS, CAD, mapping and image formats.

    Infodesk launches 'OPTIMUS'

    Bangalore-based Infodesk Technologies has announced the launch of a newly developed software product named 'OPTIMUS' (Outside Plant Information Management and Upkeep System). This software package, targeted at basic service providers such as DoT and private operators is built on GIS technology.     MapXtreme Released
