Geological Survey of India gets "Special Achievement Award" during the 20th ESRI User Conference
August, 14 2000: Geological Survey of India (GSI) being one of the largest users of ESRI's GIS technology in India and has set up six national geo-scientific data centers in India for creation, maintenance and dissemination of geological and meteorological information. GSI has been awarded the "Special Achievement Award In Geographical Information System (GIS)" for the year 2000, during the 20th ESRI User Conference held at San Deigo, USA. Geological Survey of India, received this award from ESRI Inc., USA in recognition of creating extensive geological and meteorological information. According to ESRI India CEO Rajesh Mathur, achievement of this award symbolizes the maturing of the Indian GIS user community. ESRI India team shares the great feeling of achievement Geological Survey of India bagging this prestigious award for the second consecutive year."
