    Michael Hickey Promoted to Executive Vice President Responsible for Worldwide Sales and Marketing

    To Play Integral Role on New Global Leadership Team to Take MapInfo to $250 Million
    MapInfo Corporation US, announced the promotion of Michael Hickey from Group Vice President for operations to Executive Vice President responsible for worldwide sales and marketing. In this newly created position, Hickey will align all sales and marketing efforts for the Company with product initiatives to most effectively execute MapInfo's global growth strategy. Hickey, who has been with MapInfo for five years, will continue to hold global responsibility for MapInfo's product management, product marketing and Internet operations. In addition, he will assume responsibility for the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) sales and marketing organizations as well as corporate marketing. In his expanded role, Hickey will ensure equal representation and support at the corporate level for all operating geographies, disseminate and implement best practices across regions, and lead them on a global scale.

    In addition to Michael Hickey's promotion, Cattini CEO Mapinfo named three other executives to MapInfo's new Global Leadership Team. They are Joseph Gersuk, executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer; Bert Tobin, group vice president, human resources and administrative practices; and George Moon, group vice president, R&D and Chief Technology Officer. The new team is focused on leading MapInfo's drive towards $250 million in revenue by developing global goals, objectives and methodologies.

    Joseph Gersuk, EVP and Chief Financial Officer, will continue to be responsible for the financial leadership of the Company and will assume added responsibility for Management Information Systems (MIS). He will focus MIS strategies on delivering a new level of competitive advantages by managing relationships with MapInfo customers and delivering products through new mediums that serve the best interests of MapInfo customers and partners.

    Bert Tobin, Group Vice President, will continue to be responsible for worldwide HR and administrative practices, focusing on the development and welfare of MapInfo employees and the recruitment of top talent within the global industry.

    George Moon, Group Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, will continue to be responsible for all engineering activities and technology innovations for MapInfo customers.

    Cattini added, "The new global team structure builds on the strength of our existing management team who have worked together during the past several years of continuing growth and expansion. By broadening responsibilities, we can capitalize on cross-functional synergies and knowledge and facilitate quick decision making, while at the same time, maximizing productivity and minimizing operating costs."
