Apex Data Services, Inc. received ISO 9002 certification for its production facilities in India.
VIRGINIA, December 19, 2000 - Apex Data Services, Inc. a provider of data conversion and related services for the e-publishing, utility, and government markets, has received ISO 9002 certification for its production facilities in India. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9002 certification confirms quality system models for quality assurance in production, installation, and servicing. TUV Management Services GmbH was contracted to assist in the registration process, and to ensure that the international standards were met. The audit team was comprised of three senior auditors who upheld strict requirements during their inspection. TUV Management Services GmbH will conduct audits up to three times within the next three years. "The ISO 9002 certification process was straightforward for us because of our existing ProACTTM production management and quality system. ProACT, the industry's most sophisticated quality control and production management software, was based on ISO 9002 concepts and thus it was no surprise that the certification process was greatly simplified in our case. It basically involved compiling existing quality procedures into a Quality Manual, with only slight editing and modification. As a result, the entire certification process, including training, was accomplished in a period of less than four months," said Mr. Vikram Sanghani, Joint Managing Director of Apex's Rajkot operation .
"From Apex's very beginning, the pursuit of excellence has been adopted as a cornerstone of our business and, indeed, Apex's hallmark over the years has been the exceptional quality we deliver to our customers. This has been achieved through an uncompromising reliance on systems for managing our production processes and quality. We have known all along that our quality systems meet or exceed the highest international standards. It's good to see this validated by the prestigious International Organization for Standardization," said Dr. Shashikant Gupta, Apex's President and Chief Technology Officer.
