    Two new satellite projects okayed by Indian Government

    Govt. of India has sanctioned $144 million for the launch of 2 more satellites next year to boost telecommunication, TV broadcasting and VSAT series network of the country.

    The satellites INSAT 3A and INSAT 3E will be launched by 2001-2002. Both the satellites will be launched by Arianspace Agency of Europe.

    The cabinet has also approved the increase of the number of procured launches of INSAT 3 series from 3 to 4.

    With these satellites KU band services, Meteorological services e.g - cyclone warning and rural area communication would be benifitted.
