Webraska opens new offices in Singapore and Sweden
France, 15 December 2000 - Webraska, the worldwide provider of wireless navigation services and technologies, announces the opening of two new offices in Singapore and in Stockholm, Sweden.
The new offices are in charge of establishing and extending Webraska’s presence in Asia and in the Nordic countries in Europe through commercial and business development partnerships with the regions’ key wireless players and furthermore setting up a production centre in Singapore. This expands Webraska’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region where Webraska already has offices in Tokyo, Japan and in Melbourne, Australia.
The Singapore office will be led by Walid Sinno, who previously was Managing Director of Raya Ventures LLC, a privately held VC in New York involved in early stage B2B infrastructure investments. In this capacity, he has led several venture investments and served on the board of MetaMatrix. From 1994 until 1998, Mr. Sinno was Regional Manager at Xerox in Eurasia, where he contributed to the expansion of Xerox’s commercial activities throughout the FSSU countries.

Gilles de Clerck, who was recently appointed Country Manager Scandinavia, has extensive experience in the strategic aspects of telecommunications. Prior to joining Webraska, he spent five years at Booz-Allen & Hamilton where he mainly advised leading telecommunications groups on new ventures, acquisitions, restructuring and privatisation strategies in Europe and the Middle-East.
