Webraska Demonstrates World-Wide First live wireless Navigation On Java technology- Enabled Phones
Webraska, the worldwide provider of real-time personal navigation services and technologies and solutions for the Wireless Internet, is conducting the world's first demonstration of its personal navigation services on Sun Microsystems' Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition technology at the major Telecom Asia 2000 show in Hong Kong, 4th to 9th December 2000.
This live demonstration of Webraska's real-time navigation incorporates the following key features:
- route optimisation - taking into account traffic information (conditions and road changes)
- turn by turn directions and information incl. estimated distance and time to destination
- interactive maps with zooming and panning capabilities
- saving of bookmarks (favourite point of interests, routes etc.)
- support for colour and greyscale capable phones
- multimodal routing - a choice of means of transport: car, public transport and by foot.
