    GPS used to determine the movement of Mt. Everest

    China Daily had reported that the world’s tallest peak, Mt. Everest is moving into China at a speed of six to seven centimetres per year from its position on the Nepal-China border at an angle of 540. The scientist from the state bureau of surveying used global positioning surveys to determine the movement of the 8,848 metre peak, which straddles the border between northeastern Nepal and China’s Tibet autonomous region.
