Lockheed Martin Awarded Government-Wide Environmental Services Contact
Lockheed Martin was awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Environmental Advisory Services (EAS) contract to provide environmental services to any federal customer. Under this government-wide contract, Lockheed Martin's Systems Support & Training Services will help customers meet environmental regulations requirements, assess ecological risks, and plan environmental remedies and strategies. Responsibilities will include scientific and technical support for environmental planning, compliance assessment, survey design and execution field sample collection, chemical analysis and bioassays, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, emergency response planning, safety and health, ecological assessments, geographical information systems (GIS) and remote sensing applications, environmental data management, and quality assurance. Lockheed Martin has provided such services to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 26 years.
``Lockheed Martin is proud to support responsible stewardship of the nation's natural resources through the environmental mission of federal agencies,'' said David J. Posek, president of Systems Support & Training Services. ``This contract vehicle will allow us to leverage our 26 years of environmental experience, technology, cost-effective services, and worldwide presence to effectively meet agency needs.'' This contract, which complements other Lockheed Martin Federal Supply Services (FSS) contracts such as Information Technology and Professional Engineering Services, provides federal agencies the ability to combine varying service types across GSA schedules, use streamlined ordering procedures, and make blanket purchases agreements, partnerships and subcontract arrangements.
