PCI Geomatics Attends Oracle OpenWorld, Demonstrates Software Support for Oracle8i Spatial Using Geomatica
PCI Geomatics, world-leading developer of Geomatics software, is demonstrating their product support for Oracle8i(r) Spatial at Oracle Open World. Support for Oracle8i(r) is available within the full PCI Geomatics product line. Oracle Open World, held this year at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from October 1st until October 6th, is among the world's largest e-business technology conferences, offering a comprehensive and in-depth look at the newest technologies and e-business solutions.
PCI Geomatics exhibits the close relationship between advances in geospatial software and advances in database technologies. This year, PCI Geomatics is demonstrating the value of geospatial support for Oracle database technologies using Geomatica(tm), their new and complete geomatics solution that provides affordable software with capabilities in remote sensing, GIS, cartography, and photogrammetry. Geomatica and other PCI Geomatics software have included the ability to load and access geospatial data (including imagery) for Oracle databases since January 2000.
Recently, PCI Geomatics announced the release of Geomatica GeoGateway(r), their advanced and affordable geomatics image-viewing tool that includes a powerful integrating, visualizing, and translating environment. Geomatica GeoGateway is matched with the capability to import/export over 80 imagery, vector, and other data formats (without the need for conversion), including read and write support for Oracle 8i(r) Spatial with Oracle GeoImage(r) data management. This seamless and direct geospatial data transfer application is unique in the market place, making geospatial imagery much more accessible to a wider range of users.
