Pixxures and AirPhotoUSA Join Forces to Build Huge Internet Library of Aerial and Satellite Photography

Pixxures, Inc. announced today that it has joined with Phoenix-based AirPhotoUSA, LLC to create one of the largest digital libraries of earth imagery in the world. The two companies plan to combine the aerial photography and satellite imagery they both acquire on Pixxures' Internet site, which will be the exclusive outlet for this imagery. ``AirPhotoUSA has by far the best collection of aerial photography in the U.S.,'' said Brian Webster, president and chief executive officer of Pixxures. ``They have nearly 100,000 square miles of color, one-meter coverage now and will add several dozen more metropolitan areas in the next two flying seasons.

``Total coverage will then exceed 250,000 square miles, include thousands of municipalities, and cover every city in the U.S. with a population of 500,000 or greater. To be able to add this amount of current color imagery to Pixxures' digital library of aerial and satellite imagery is a huge step forward for us.''

Pixxures plans to be one of the largest sources of aerial photography and satellite imagery over the Internet. The company is currently completing its imagery delivery web site (http://www.pixxures.com) and plans to populate that site with imagery it produces as well as with imagery third parties offer to display.

Pixxures' unique production process enables the company to create map-quality imagery faster, in much higher volumes, and at much lower cost, than traditional mapping companies can do. This high-volume production capability differentiates Pixxures from other companies that are trying to populate other sites with borrowed imagery.

To complement its Internet delivery capabilities, Pixxures is building the first of several high-volume production centers to produce map-quality imagery. Because the company's production process is so efficient, the company has won many large-scale projects that will provide substantial amounts of imagery for resale over the Internet.
