Safe Software announces the release of FME® 2000 SR1
Safe Software, Inc. announces the release of FME 2000 SR1 spatial data translation and transformation software. Release 2000 SR1 has over 100 improvements including support for many new data formats, enhancements to the user interface and performance improvements to the FME core.
"This is the best and most impressive FME yet," said Don Murray, president of Safe Software, Inc. "With the long list of enhancements, FME 2000 SR1 is now being increasingly embraced as an enterprise solution for data interchange."
What's New in FME 2000 SR1
Below are some highlights of the many enhancements that have been made to FME Suite components in release 2000 SR1:
-
FME Universal Viewer: this utility allows viewing of data sets without needing the application that created the data set. A very useful tool for determining what is in the data set before and after translation, FME Universal Viewer now allows users to set colors, fill areas, and turn feature-types off and on.
- FME Universal Translator: this is the flagship data translation component. Newly added is reading support of USGS ASCII DEMs, ComGraphix CGDEF files, and CITS QLF files, and writing support of Encapsulated PostScript® (EPS) and ComGraphix CGDEF. Speed of the core translator engine has also been improved.
- FME Workbench: This is the graphical tool for setting up custom translations. Most of the data transformation and processing functions and factories have now been added so that FME Workbench can now be used for more complicated translations. We've also added an AVI movie tutorial to explain basic functionality.
