SiGEM and STMicroelectronics to collaborate on GPS solutions for North America

SiGEM Inc., a leading developer of low-power wireless location tracking systems and products, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with STMicroelectronics Inc. of Boston, Massachusetts, to collaborate on development of GPS solutions for potential customers in North America based on the leading ST-GiPSy two chip-set solution. The agreement will include joint marketing efforts and GPS product functionality development with SiGEM providing sales and technical support services to ST's U.S. sales force. The two companies anticipate that this extension of their longstanding relationship will expand the market for the next generation of GPS solutions, including voice recognition and text-to- speech technologies for advanced applications such as in-vehicle navigation.
