Vexcel Corporation Announces Opening of European Office
Vexcel Corporation announces the opening of its European office in Graz, Austria. Vexcel Europe, an extension of the Boulder, Colorado (USA) based Vexcel Corporation, will offer remote sensing products and services featuring the company's expertise in radar and
optical signal processing, high-rate data capture, software engineering, and close range and aerial photogrammetry. Vexcel Europe made its first official appearance at the EUSAR 2000 conference in Munich, Germany.
Vexcel is internationally recognized in a wide range of areas within the remote sensing industry. The company creates hardware and software for optical and radar satellite mapping and has provided the European Space Agency and French aerospace corporation, Matra Marconi, with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing capabilities. Vexcel is also entering the European wireless industry with its 3D urban mapping services for broadband technologies. With data for 30 major North and South American cities currently available and data for 13 more cities available by the end of the year, Vexcel is a leader in producing information-rich 3D building and terrain databases for the wireless industry. Additionally, Vexcel's close-range photogrammetric system, Foto-G has been used to create as-built 3D models for the International Space Station, oil [continued] platforms off the coast of Norway, and auto manufacturing plants to assist in redesign, new construction, and repairs.
"Vexcel has performed large-scale interferometric SAR mapping projects on six continents, including Antarctica, and sold remote sensing ground stations around the world," says John Curlander, CEO of Vexcel Corporation. "With Vexcel's business expanding rapidly in the
international market, the timing is right for a European office."
