Electro scrap - software support for electronic product take-back
RELOOP Roadshow scheduled from 17 - 26th October 2000 throughout Europe
A group of industrial and academic parties joined together in January, 1998 to investigate the information needs of, and to develop and launch a multi-user and multi-functional tool to help manage and coordinate activities in electronics recycling chains, during a three years project called RELOOP (Reverse Logistics Chain Optimisation in a multi-user trading environment).
The Reloop consortium studied existing take-back logistics (TBL) networks in European as part of the research work to implement an Internet-based software tool that will contribute to the development of sustainable solutions. To ensure that the RELOOP tool will meet the re--quirements of the users, several actions are being un-der-taken. A series of workshops are conducted and contacts to governmental, industrial and aca-de-mics have been established.
After more than two years of indepth requirements and knowledge acquisitions referring the systems' functions the 3rd prototype of this unique tools has been finalised and will be shown to a larger audience across Europe in course of a Road Show during 17th to 26th October, 2000. They will be present during the international exhibition "Pollutec 2000" in the time from 17 - 20 October in Lyon/France, follow up on 24th Oct in Stuttgart/Germany, on 25th Oct in Brussels and 26th Oct in Den Haag/NL.
