IDEAL to Exhibit at Graph Expo -Show Casing Award Winning IntraNETIXTM Technology for Browser Based Proofing and Distribution and Color ScanCENTRAL for Printing

IDEAL Scanners & Systems, Inc. (IDEAL) will be at the Graph Expo trade show in Chicago co exhibiting with Contex Scanning Technology between September 24 - 27, 2000. IDEAL will be there to demonstrate the award winning IntraNETIXTM technology and ColorScanCENTRAL.

IntraNETIXTM Technology and Color ScanCENTRAL on Exhibit IDEAL's IntraNETIXTM technology allows drawings to be scanned and viewed across multiple platforms for online, browser based soft proofing. IntraNETIXTM technology (1) facilitates multi-field indexing and archiving of scanned documents from various types of scanners (for example, film, small and large format scanners); and (2) allows easy browser based access to these scanned images stored across multiple platforms. Color ScanCENTRAL is IDEAL's new, production-oriented, high speed, high fidelity scan to print system for scanning, printing, and copying of large format originals including photographs, color renderings, posters, and artwork.

    What Need Does IntraNETIXTM Solve?

IntraNETIXTM satisfies the unique demands of environments working in color graphics, such as corporate reproduction departments, Service Bureaus, advertising agencies, pre press houses, copy and imaging shops, digital presses, and graphic and digital artists. "For years, IDEAL has been working on addressing solutions to meet customer-driven demand for centralized storage and web-based transmission of large format raster images generated by wide format scanners," said Jay Magenheim, IDEAL's President. "After years of research and software development, we made a break through in our imaging technology with IntraNETIXTM technology, which allows our customers instant browser based access to original files, using an ordinary, dial up Internet connection - independent of bandwidth constraints - on any PC, MAC, Linux or Unix platform." File size and bandwidth are not issues. Thin-Client Computing Technology allows everything to be viewed directly from the server. IntraNETIXTM running IDEAL's Digital Container or a company's server is the perfect companion for IDEAL's Color ScanCENTRAL, which consists of a SuperWIDE50 and sophisticated color management software.

Windows NT and Windows 2000 Security

High levels of security are built into IntraNETIXTM. IntraNETIXTM uses native Windows NT authentication and security to provide unparalleled protection against unauthorized access. With Windows 2000, security policies can be defined for the entire organization. Moreover, specifications can be established for NT computers that recognize who to trust and talk to, and what security methods those computers are to use.

Online Collaboration Using IntraNETIXTM Technology and Color ScanCENTRAL

Collaboration on digital graphic arts projects with one or more groups in geographically distant locations require constant communications. IntraSendT is a built-in feature of the IntraNETIXTM, which allows work groups the ability to more easily collaborate by emailing file links rather than relying on traditional courier and overnight services. Online access brings work groups onto the same page to manage the project, notify each other of updates, filling directories with (not necessarily well-organized) revisions, and send messages to clarify what is completed and what remains to be done. When a project is complete, with IntraNETIXTM authorized users can initiate remote batch printing to the Color ScanCENTRAL system, which is capable of outputting exact color for color matches from the scanning to printing. IDEAL's 50" wide Color ScanCENTRAL will drive all the most popular large format plotters including Hewlett Packard, Kodak, EnCAD, Océ, Xerox, Calcomp, RasterGraphics, Tektronix, and most PostScript printers.
