Tyco Unit to Implement Street Lighting System in Singapore

Boca Raton, Fla., Tyco Fire & Security Services, a major business unit of Tyco International Ltd., has announced that its Integrated Systems business unit has won a major transportation infrastructure project in Singapore, to implement a new lighting system. This order is the result of Tyco Fire & Security Services' strategy to provide services that support the growing global need for infrastructure improvements in road, sea and air transportation.

In Singapore, Tyco Fire & Security Services secured a five-year contract from the Land Transport Authority of Singapore for the maintenance and installation of Public Street Lighting and Zebra Crossing Beacon Lighting Systems in the West Zone of the island. The scope of work includes design and installation of new street lighting, modification of lighting systems during road improvement projects, increasing street lighting effectiveness, GPS (Global Positioning System) mapping of the location and lighting attributes of all lighting poles, emergency repair of lighting following accidents and underground cable faults and the introduction of new technologies to reduce costs and improve lighting effectiveness.
