Paradigm and IDC to Co-Market Wireless Location Technology Solution
Toronto, April 19, Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc., which provides wireless location-based electronic-commerce (L-commerce) solutions, has announced that its wholly owned PowerLOC division has entered into an agreement with International Dispatch Center (IDC), a service product of Criticom International Corp, under which IDC will purchase and license Paradigm's PowerLOC L-Biz(TM) Tracker server system.
The Tracker will allow IDC's central station monitoring services to provide a wide range of sophisticated tracking services to their clients. The agreement gives IDC the ability to offer its products and world-class Call Center services to national accounts and retail chains in the U.S. and internationally. As well, the agreement will provide an introduction of the PowerLOC L-Biz (TM) Internet-enabled, GPS and wireless tracking and locating technology into the B2C and B2B markets by reaching out to IDC's current base of residential, commercial and government customers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
IDC provides state-of-the-art monitoring services to tens of thousands of customers throughout North America. IDC has led the security industry in redundant communication systems and has been an Underwriters Laboratory Listed Central Station since 1987, just one year after the company began operations.
The call-monitoring industry is well established in the monitoring of stationary objects, including homes, businesses and manufacturing facilities. With this agreement in place, monitoring of moving objects -- both vehicles and persons -- can now be realized. The system will be installed this summer, and services are planned to be commercially available by Q3 2001.
