Terrasolid's TerraScan LiDAR Processing Software now available from Airborne 1

California & Helsinki, April 17, Airborne 1 Corporation and Terrasolid Ltd. have announced the implementation of a Master Distributor agreement. Airborne 1 is now an Authorized Master Distributor for Terrasolid's software products including the popular TerraScan LiDAR Data Processing package.

TerraScan is a dedicated software solution for processing LiDAR data that runs on top of Bentley's Microstation. Unlike many older software packages, TerraScan can easily handle the tens of millions of points common in large LiDAR data sets, in fact as many as 40,000,000 points per GB of RAM. As a dedicated LiDAR data solution, all data handling routines are tweaked for optimum performance when handling large laser point clouds. Its versatile manipulation, visualization and classification tools prove useful in topographic surveying, surveying of transmission lines, flood plains, proposed highways, stockpiles, forest areas or urban centers. An intuitive GUI and common Windows interface make deploying and optimizing TerraScan a straightforward task in any production environment. Customizable macro programming, user-defined project structures and automated batch processing make TerraScan an extremely flexible and versatile tool that allows end users to move away from proprietary, black box software solutions and take control of their own LiDAR data. TerraScan reads points directly from any ASCII XYZ text file, allows users to work in an open-source binary format for smaller file size and faster access and easily allows conversion between various standard formats.

In North America TerraScan is available both as a full-featured LiDAR data manipulation and classification tool and as a low-cost LiDAR data viewer. The viewer includes all the features of the full package except for the ability to automatically classify the laser data. List price for the full version is $4,950 US, for the Viewer $295. Software bundles, volume discounts and educational/academic discounts are available upon request. A 30-day demonstration license of the full TerraScan package is available upon request. TerraModeler, a full-featured terrain modeling application that directly integrates with TerraScan, is also available.
