    CompassCom announces 2001 GPS/GIS seminar schedule

    Englewood, Colo., 22 February 2001 - CompassCom Inc. has released its 2001 schedule of GPS and GIS Technology Seminars for the Rocky Mountain region. All of the seminars are free and focus on the uses of GPS-based data collection for the population and development of GIS applications.

    CompassCom is offering the seminar series in cooperation with Trimble Navigation Ltd., Laser Technology, ESRI Inc. and Space Imaging.

    Each seminar is divided into a basic session in the morning and an advanced session in the afternoon. The basic seminar includes an introduction to the latest GPS, laser, pen-based computer and remote sensing technologies and products used for field data collection. Advanced sessions delve into applications and integration of these technologies in the GIS environment. Participants may attend one or both sessions. Refreshments will be provided.

    The seminars are geared toward professionals working in the utilities, telecommunications, public works, public safety, environmental and state/local government disciplines. Attendance is limited to four persons from one organization.

    The 2001 GPS and GIS Technology Seminar Schedule:

    Feb. 27 - Cheyenne, Wyo.
    March 8 - Glenwood Springs, Colo.
    March 13 - Northglenn (Denver area)
    March 22 - Fort Collins
    March 27 - Colorado Springs
    April 10 - Denver
    April 27 - Durango, Colo.

    All seminars are identical with the exception of the March 13 sessions in North Denver. These will specifically focus on GPS data collection and GIS development for applications benefiting utilities and telecommunications organizations.
