Anita Zelic received Government of Ontario/ ESRI Canada GIS Scholarship
Toronto, ON - The University of Toronto's Anita Zelic has been selected as the first recipient of the Government of Ontario/ESRI Canada graduate scholarship in science and technology. Created through a program of the Province of Ontario and an endowment established by ESRI Canada and the University of Toronto, this award is presented to an outstanding graduate student studying spatial analysis and applied geographic information systems (GIS).
John Kitchen, vice president and general manager, ESRI Canada, presented the scholarship during the Sixth Annual Awards Presentation and Graduation Reception for the University of Toronto Department of Geography and Program in Planning.
"As the first Government of Ontario/ESRI Canada scholarship recipient, Anita is thoroughly deserving of this award," said Mr. Kitchen. "We wish her well as she studies geographic information systems and spatial analysis."
Ms. Zelic is working towards her Masters in the Joint Master's Program in Spatial Analysis. A partnership between Ryerson Polytechnic University and the University of Toronto, enables students to benefit from the pooled GIS/analytically oriented resources.
