CSI Wireless receives $7m order from INTERTRAK

Alberta, January 9, 2001 - CSI Wireless Inc, a provider of advanced wireless and GPS technologies for the high growth automotive, commercial, and consumer markets, has received a $7.2 million purchase order for its AssetVisionT for MicroBurst® technology from InterTrak Tracking Services, L.L.C., a company dealing in vehicle and asset tracking services in the United States. The order is to be delivered over a 12-month period with shipments beginning immediately.

AssetVision for MicroBurst, introduced to the market by CSI Wireless in October of 2000, is a powerful wireless location-tracking hardware device, capable of tracking and monitoring vehicles and assets virtually anywhere in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and throughout much of South America.

AssetVision for MicroBurst combines Global Positioning System (GPS) technology with MicroBurst wireless packet data communications into one integrated device, providing a low-cost mobile product for many telemetry and telematics applications.

InterTrack will use AssetVision to provide vehicle and asset tracking services to track individual vehicles or entire fleets from a secure website interface anywhere Internet access is available. By integrating AssetVision with its telematics and software, InterTrak provides an economical and easy to use system for vehicle tracking.

"CSI Wireless simply provides us with the best technology for vehicle and asset tracking services," said Nick Greco, Director of Operations at InterTrack. "CSI's AssetVision provides good power management, scalability, functionality changes, and makes it easy to change tracking parameters."

Stephen Verhoeff, President & CEO of CSI Wireless Inc. stated, "AssetVision for Microburst is a highly configurable tool for vehicle tracking and control and remote asset management, offering hundreds of diagnostic and command and control functions. InterTrak is providing a competitive service using AssetVision that is attractive to both the consumer and commercial markets."

InterTrak is a simple yet powerful vehicle tracking system composed of CSI Wireless hardware along with InterTrak's GPS central station tracking and mapping software which allows users to track vehicles from multiple locations including home or office.

Each vehicle being tracked is outfitted with one AssetVision unit, and InterTrak GPS software and maps are installed on a Windows based computer with Internet capability for base monitoring station. Each vehicle is given its own identity and password key which allows vehicles to be tracked individually or in groups or fleets. Location reports can be generated on a scheduled basis or on demand at any time. Typically it takes less than 20 seconds to retrieve location information and plot the position on an InterTrak GPS map - substantial improvement from several minutes for competitive services.

The InterTrak has a wide range of applications but is most suitable for personal security, precious cargo tracking, and public safety; where up to the minute real-time tracking is essential. The InterTrak will display the vehicle's current speed and position and can provide a detailed report of vehicle's history including speed, distance and locations for a defined period. Intertrak's on-board intelligence provides real-time fleet location information to increase productivity, closer fleet control and theft recovery.

"InterTrak represents the affordable solution for small and medium fleets that want to improve and maintain timely deliveries and pick-ups without a huge capital investment," said Greco.

Safety and vehicle theft recovery is a primary service for InterTrak users. Utilizing a cutting edge police-aided vehicle recovery system, Intertrak employs a 24 hour monitoring center which provides a vehicle's GPS data to law enforcement agencies to recover a stolen motor vehicle. Concealable and silent, AssetVision is embedded so the driver is unaware of the fact that the vehicle is being tracked.

As part of the stolen vehicle recovery solution, InterTrak will have donated its tracking software to law enforcement offices throughout the United States by the end of 2001. This will enable law enforcement agencies to locate stolen property faster than the other systems currently being used. The process will also free up valuable time and resources for the agencies and public safety.

With an aggressive market strategy, InterTrak's key differentiators are no monthly fees, quicker response times, and standard backup battery power for safety. InterTrak is the first to provide a vehicle and equipment recovery system with nationwide coverage with no monthly monitoring fees. In under two years InterTrak already has over 4000 users today and has begun providing services to one of America's largest fleet leasing companies. The company is also negotiating OEM relationships with automotive equipment manufacturers.

"We have arranged a good supply agreement with CSI Wireless which will support the high growth that we anticipate over the next several years," added Greco.

As InterTrak's key hardware supplier, CSI Wireless will also move forward partnering on development and engineering. This relationship has been established between InterTrack and the top-notch CSI Wireless engineering team to ensure market leading solutions and services for mutual success in the future.

InterTrak's quick decision to switch to CSI Wireless as its key strategic hardware supplier is an indicator of the positive market reception the Company has received for AssetVision for Microburst, which was only released in October of 2000. CSI Wireless is in discussions with other customers in both the United States and Canada for utilization of AssetVision for MicroBurst for other asset tracking services, as well as other commercial fleet management requirements including remote monitoring of engines, oil pressure, fuel, runtime hours, and geo-fencing in addition to typical location-based information.
