KOREM releases PUSH'N'SEE 3.1: The newest version of Web-mapping software for MapInfo users
Quebec City, Canada - KOREM, recently named "Best New Partner 2000, North America" of the MapInfo Corporation, just released Push'n'See 3.1 the newest version of its Web-mapping software for MapInfo users. Push'n'See has been developed to meet the GIS and mapping needs of companies and public organizations using MapInfo Professional. Push'n'See, written in Java, will enhance the publication and communication of interactive maps through their corporate intranet or over the Internet. Working jointly with MapXtrem Java Edition 3.1 from the MapInfo Corporation, Push'n'See has specific features to optimize and ease the use of MapJ mapping components.
Push'n'See allows MapInfo users and end users to:
Publish
MapInfo Professional users, designated as "authors" by the webmaster, can publish their own workspace on the server using a simple web browser. They may choose to render their projects available to all or to restrict their availability to certain members of a group.
Consult
Anyone having access to Push'n'See can consult and navigate through diverse public projects with a simple web browser. With the use of a password, they may also have access to the list projects available within their group.
Download
Co-workers in the same organization or their clients, using MapInfo Professional, can download the workspace on their own computer. It is a practical way to exchange or sell data knowing that it can be examined prior to being downloaded.
Update
If the authors need to refresh their Push'n'See projects on the server, they can update the workspace by transferring only the files that need to be fixed. If the workspace is a team project, the co-workers can also adjust the content if they download it.
Administrate
The Push'n'See administrator can create groups of users by providing them with a user name and a password, which will grant them specific privileges such as publishing or administrative rights within the groups.
Customize
In addition to being a complete software, Push'n'See also allows developers to customize the application, using all the flexibility and capacities of MapXtreme Java Edition.
"Push'n'See is so simple to administer that it requires no special web network knowledge" said Mr. Luc Vaillancourt, Vice President, Business Development at KOREM. "It really focuses on the MapInfo users' expertise, the real authors of the projects and the real administrator of the application".
Pricing and availability:
Push'n'See will be
available early January 2001. For Internet deployment, the cost is
based on the number of MHz of application server. For an intranet or
extranet solution, the number of named users will determine the
price. Push'n'See is available online at www.pushnsee.com
