- Indian Export in GIS segment will increase 2.5 times: A Report

"The export from Geographic Information System (GIS) segment will increase to $150 million in the
next five years from the present level of $60 million." This is the finding of a
report on 'Export of IT enabled services from India to North America' prepared
by the US-based consulting firm "Stevens International Consulting" (SIC)

The Washington Department of Transportation (DOT) has selected Leica Geosystems as
the preferred manufacturer of GPS/GIS equipment. The Washington DOT decision in
favor of Leica's GS50 GPS/GIS data collection system was made following a
competitive analysis of products from six manufacturers. The evaluations
included extensive benchmark GPS tests and product demonstrations.

- GDR Software Ltd. in $23mn GIS deal with AT&T

Bangalore based GDR Software has struck a $23 million business deal (about RS 110 crore) in the
Geographical Information System (GIS) with telecommunication giant AT&T and
a top digital mapping company in US.It involves country outlines to be broken
first into state outlines, followed by district outlines and so on to
superimpose AT&T's telecom network.

Denver, Colo., December 12, 2000 - Space Imaging Asia (e-HD.com), a Regional Affiliate of Space Imaging, celebrated its
grand opening this month in Seoul, Korea. Space Imaging Asia's regional
operation center is now fully capable to task the IKONOS satellite and downlink
high-resolution imagery of Earth directly to a ground receiving station. Once
the one- and four-meter resolution imagery is collected it is cataloged and
archived.
