Magnasoft and Wipro Tech form strategic alliance for GIS based Fleet Management Solutions

27 December 2002
Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited and Magnasoft, a provider of end-to-end GIS solutions, have announced that they have entered into a strategic alliance to provide their customers in the Transportation sector the combined benefit of Wipro’s extensive services and Magnasoft’s niche Fleet Management Solutions.

Augmenting Wipro’s existing offerings to its global customers, Magnasoft’s GIS-based Fleet Management Solution (FleetWATCH) would offer advanced features, such as Vehicle Management, Driver Management, Trip and Route Planning, Driver Merit Analysis, Customized Reporting and Back-end integration with their existing ERP, CRM & SCM implementations.

FleetWATCH is built over a platform-independent architecture to ensure compatibility with industry-standard communication technologies, including GSM, CDMA, Radio and Satellite. It also supports seamless integration with the related hardware supplied by recognized Hardware Manufacturers.

Wipro and Magnasoft would approach the market with this mutually enhanced portfolio through their respective Sales / Sales Partner outfits located at various parts of North America and Europe, respectively.

“We are pleased to add Magnasoft’s FleetWATCH to our current portfolio of offerings to the Transportation sector,” said Mr. Manoj Punja, Vice President – Corporate Vertical, Wipro Technologies. “FleetWATCH’s user-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, reliability and scalability meets the demands of our customers, in addition to ensuring quick ROI for them,” he added.

“The business potential, which can be derived from the combination of a niche solution provider and a global IT powerhouse has been the driving factor for this alliance initiative,” stated Mr. S Sridhar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Magnasoft. “The Wipro-Magnasoft alliance would jointly address new applications of technology and bring value to customers in the Transportation / Asset Tracking domain,” he added.
