DMA and ADSIC sign MoU

20 November 2009
Abu Dhabi, UAE: Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) and Abu Dhabi Electronic Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) signed an agreement to establish cooperation and coordination for GIS data sharing and exchange.

The MoU creates a framework to support easy availability of municipal GIS data for all government agencies and private organisations. Within the municipal system, this would promote an information infrastructure supporting the delivery of distinctive municipal services that enhance the quality of life for all residents across Abu Dhabi Emirate.

Through this infrastructure, residents and tourists will have easy access across Abu Dhabi. Locations will be synchronised with GPS system, offering users efficient routes to their preferred destinations. Emergency and home delivery services will become more efficient as they will have access to the right information at the right time. Property consultants, designers and developers will benefit from all technical information of any area in the emirate of Abu Dhabi making their processes smoother than before.
