Map Suite Geocoder 3.0 Beta 1 released

22 September 2009
USA: ThinkGeo has released Map Suite Geocoder 3.0 Beta 1, their latest entry in the Map Suite 3.0 family of GIS software developer components for .NET. As the next-generation replacement for Map Suite Geocode USA, this new product is built on the fully-extensible and customisable Map Suite 3.0 platform, allowing for a broad range of expanded geocoding functionality.

Map Suite Geocoder 3.0 offers versatile and high-performance conversion of latitude and longitude coordinates to street addresses and vice-versa in a native .NET component for application developers. Additionally, Map Suite Geocoder can also be extended to support any number of custom geocoding requirements. For example, users could add the ability to geocode based on telephone area codes.

The product includes a highly optimised dataset of street addresses in the United States, allowing for immediate use with U.S.-based applications. Official plugins for support of additional countries and locales is planned for the future, or can be added now by users who already have the appropriate datasets.
