Osamu Murao joins Topcon & Sokkia Middle East

Dubai: Osamu Murao has been appointed General Manager of Topcon and Sokkia Middle East & Africa office in Dubai as a successor of Katsuhiro Umino.

Mr. Murao has a rich history in the positioning industry stretching back to 1982 and a wide managerial scope covering sales, planning and finance. He held various management positions in Japan, Singapore, USA and Europe.

At the announcement of his new posting Mr. Murao said:” The global economic downturn that we are witnessing is no doubt the most significant crisis of our times. Its effects on most industries have been devastating, as have been its impacts on our field, however the Middle East and African markets are still potentially promising and there is huge room for expansion …Indeed, our positioning equipment and solutions are expected to contribute to the development of the economy in this region. I am delighted working in this exciting region and looking forward to what’s coming next”.
