Abstract
NRSA has been generating Toposheet based PAN+LISS-II merged products based on user requests from last 3 years in project mode. For generation of these products lot of efforts have been put from the initial work center NRSA Data Center to the Final Stage of Quality Control. For every product data selection is to be carried out based on user required season. Data was selected from various satellites as user was particular about the season. Because of this multi satellite option Data Processing became difficult at Value Added Products Generation Centers and some of the products took even days for generation to eliminate radiometry imbalance , mosaic effect and to achieve better location accuracy (better than 50 m.) . In some cases control points were collected in sea area also. Keeping all these reasons in view, a database of these products was maintained so that whenever there was a repeat request for the same toposheet it can be used as reference. Till now Toposheet based images of Entire Andhra Pradesh Karnataka, Gujarat, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Delhi and part of Jammu & Kashmir are stored. Apart from these Some more images scattered over other areas of India are also stored whenever there was a user request. Till now we have covered around 2000 toposheets. All the images are generated using Polyconic projection with Everest datum. For accession of the data base details we have developed a JAVA based frontend . Compressed Images of this database are linked to this GUI so that toposheet based coverage can be viewed as per the requirement. The disk space requirement for the database will be around 4GB for data covering entire India along with metadata.
Once full India is covered this can be ported on to NRSA website for users convenience. Along with Image display the GUI provides online geographic information and places covered with the toposheet.
