Abstract Compilation of Promissing mineralized Zones by GIS in Geological Surverying and mineral explorations is Considered as an efficient instrument in geosciences investigations.
In this regard, Collection of numerous data layers. Such as geological maps, airborne geophysical informations, remote sensing datas, geochemical and mineral investigation maps and datas, are processed and modelliz ed by the up to data methods and the areas are presented as the potential priorities for detailed prospecting and investigations. GIS extensively develops the trend of such produce and provides the required prossibilities for processing of the professional datas and analyzing of the spatial datas. The presented report discusses one of the promessing exploration Zones of Iran, Chalus-Gorgan zone, situated North of Iran, across Caspian Sea.The scale of this zone is 250,000.
In the presented modelling , the datas have been processed and analyzed based on the four following groups :
1-Host geology, Consisiting of carbonate rocks and andesite basalt units, which have been adapted from the exisiting 1:100,000 geological maps and after having been processed and applied the constans appropriate to the values of these datas, have been used in the final compilations.
2-Source, which have been adapter from remote Sensing geophysical, geochemical and geological datas and after having been compared with eachother and approval of the areas which had been determined from each branch, have been used in the final compilation.3-Ore forming Processing, datas consist of two subbranches of alteration and mineralization. The alteration datas have been collected by remote Sensing of TM and Aster photos, geophysics, geochemistry and geology and have been used after having been processed. The mineralization datas of region consist of geochemical (Paragenetic element) , air photos, and geophysical datas, and also the mineral. Indications observed in the area for each of the metioned layer the appropriate interpretation a processing has been contributed as O.F.P(Ore Forming Process) map in the final compilation.4-Structural datas of the area have been obtained from geological , remote Sensing and geophysical datas and after having been compared and elimination of the common datas, the districts under effection of the faults and thrusts were datermind (buffering) and then have been used as a structral layer.
Finally after preparation of the above four mentioned layers, and application of the appropriate constants, regarding the value of each layer for modelling, target and promissing map of Copper mineralization has been completed from the above mentional layers. The Field control of the mineralization has been executed and the analysis results were satisfying.Application of GIS in exploration is a short road to get a good result, ina shorter time and lower cost.
