Abstract
Data sharing system is the backbone of e-government information infrastructure. Such system shall satisfy the following requirements: 1) From anywhere, any data can be searched and accessed. 2) Data from multiple resources at remote servers can be integrated for applications. 3) Multimedia and multi-formatted documents can be integrally managed. 4) Data can be shared within the specified groups as well as published externally. 5) Geo-spatial data clearinghouse shall be provided. The Information Integrated Management System (IIMS) is a networked system realizing an integrated mechanism of catalogue services, metadata management, distributive unstructured data management, data security control, geo-spatial data interoperability and networking GIS integration. It provides an extensive support for sharing of both spatial and non-spatial data. It’s an ideal platform with remote services, necessary tools and API for constructing data sharing systems and networking GIS for e-government. IIMS has been successfully applied to governmental networking GIS, river information management system, enterprise technical information sharing system, geo-spatial information sharing system, digital city, and disaster prevention system in Japan and other countries.
